George Aldrete
His l
ove for the mountains, desert and sea influenced George to make the California Coast and the Big Island of Hawaii his home and studio. Aldrete divides his time between California and the Hawaiian Islands where he gains his inspiration

Aldrete paintings are landscape and seascape tributes to the beauty in nature. Majestic settings inspired by the great outdoors. The moods range from the peaceful solitude of an ocean and mountain paradise, to the lively exuberance of nature in bloom.
It didn’t take long for George Aldrete to discover the allure of art and the role it plays in cultures around the world. As a youth he developed a love of art and his artistic abilities dominated his world.

PictureWhitney BUCKINGHAM

Whitney BUCKINGHAM-BEECHIE
Abstract - Indigo Dye Artist

My work is encaustic and mixed media with an emphasis on Indigo dye. My work is influenced by my background in dance and a fascination with the sensuous beauty found within color, texture, movement and form.

I paint with beeswax and pigmented wax.  I fell in love with wax because of   the texture and design that could be created within that medium, often   combining the was with paint, fabric, papers or tar.  Other times, I allow the   was to stand on its own and steal the show.

PictureAlejandra GOS

Alejandra GOS   - Pastel Artist

As a young artist at age 5, she was drawing and coloring realistic human figures.

The use of color is important.  Color is light and light is energy.  Ale brings a beautiful collection of landscape paintings for the June show. Always fresh and new, Her use of colors are vibrant yet often has a calming effect.

Ale has attended workshops with Marla Baggetta, Jane Hamilton, Liz Haywood-Sullivan and Barbara Jaenicke.  She is a member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast and the NW Pastel Society.  She is currently on exhibit at Christopher Framing & Fine Art in Edmonds.

Tsovinar MURADYAN

Bronze Artist
Tsovinar has a strong  passion for ancient Art and History.  This passion has led her to create a collection of over 40 pieces of exclusive bronze pendants. These artworks carry a unique spiritual energy. As an artist, she works hard to develop bronze pendants that speak both to her and to others about the beauty that exists in the spirit of ancient civilizations.

Part of her process before she begin sculpting is to do profound research about specific motives, set of elements and ornaments she is about to recreate on bronze. She tries with every completed work to bring life a long forgotten culture so that its ideas and lifestyle are displayed on her pieces of artworks. Tsovinar’s Art pieces have been displayed in several local art shows. Recently, she had personal exhibitions in Redmond, WA, downtown Seattle, WA, as well as in New Milford, NJ. Her Artworks are highly valued by Art critics, Art professionals, and are included in private collections.

IAN HENDERSON
Acrylic Artist
Ian Henderson draws his inspiration from the gorgeous places he travels to. Mostly inspired by the Pacific Northwest, Ian’s desire with each painting is to draw his viewer into the scene, make him/her step into the worlds he has created on canvas and forget where they are physically.

Ian uses photos and his imagination to create sometimes realistic scenes, sometimes fantastical scenes and sometimes a hybrid. He has been practicing his art since he was five with his first drawings. He picked up paint at the age of 13 and has not stopped since.

Ian’s work has been seen at The Columbia Tower Club, Avanti Art Gallery, Millstream Gallery, University House and graces the walls of many homes and businesses. Henderson is also a talented musician, under the name Painted Water, whose music has been described as relaxing and epic. His music is a soundtrack to nature.

Beverly SHAW-STARKOVICH

Beverly started out doing realistic portraits, then transitioned through landscapes, still life and now she often utilizes realism and abstraction together.  She generally works in series of two to four of a similar subject, concentrating on color, shape and volume using people, places or things.

It doesn't matter what the subject might be, but the artist finds it is often inspired or related to music.  "Music is a constant in our home with my husband constantly working out tunes on the pianoin much the same way I work out my ideas on canvas.  Music is a motivator in my studio prompting me to reach back to experiences I've had or places I have visited.  Music can be soothing as I work or invigorating when I feel my work is getting stiff, and I need something to loosen it up.

Ultimately, it is my hope that my work will tap into a memory or feeling for the viewer".

Ash GOFF

“Art should disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed.”            -unknown
This young, Seattle artist has been using art as her primary medium of communication since the time she first held a pencil. Because she has never taken an art class, she has pushed through endless trial and error to carve out a style and a method entirely her own. Inspiration most frequently stems from the music pounding out of her headphones late at night. Much of her work, while dark, circles around the themes of coping with mental illness and mortality.

Most of her art utilizes a technique known as stippling; the creation of a pattern simulating varying degrees of solidity or shading by using small dots. However, she embodies the grunge aesthetic of the music she listens to by breaking the rules of technique for the sake of practicality when called for. As a result, her materials are modest and she commonly calls upon the simplicity of a Sharpie marker when large swaths of black are needed on the page. Themes of red and black reoccur within her art save for the centerpiece of the show which features the artist’s exploration with color. Additionally, this collection contains her first attempt at cultivating a yet unexplored artistic technique of “bleeding” pen ink through the paper from the backside of the page.
Professionally she has illustrated several novel covers for her author friends. She is also in the process of illustrating multiple graphic novels; both as partner projects as well as a graphic memoir for which she is doubling as a writer. In addition to her many projects, she has also done commissioned tattoo and character design for customers throughout the northwest.

AUTUMN KEGLEY

Autumn's work draws from nature, as she has always loved biology and botany as well as artistic creation. She would like her art to convey essential physical and spiritual human connection to the natural world.

“Plein-air paintings are created on location in the great outdoors. When our somewhat unpredictable Northwest weather allows, I find taking my easel into nature an extremely relaxing activity. Painting landscapes on location helps me push my color-mixing technique and brushwork. Without a narrative to address, I can focus upon making the composition, colors and values of a painting come together within the limited daylight hours.”

a landscape that is free of clutter.  The photograph i
s stark, but is imbued with a quiet serenity.”
